Fred with Kurt

Hi Dave,

I just wanted to tell you that Kurt is a class act, last night at the TNA house show in Westbury NY, he took pictures with all the fans. Now I know that it was all pre-planed, but you could see after an hour of taking pictures Kurt was ready to clean up like the rest of the wrestlers who had. Even after they announced that they ran out of film he still was ok to have people come up and take pictures with their own cameras. I am glad I was able to get a picture with him. He truly is one of the nicest guys in the business.  I had a great time at the event and I am still wondering how he pulled off a moonsault with out hitting anything above him..  He would know what I mean.

Kurt,

I wanted to say thank you for taking the time out for the picture with me. I know you had the opportunity to finish when the Polaroids ended, but you were a true champ. It will be going right up on the wall and if you are able to send the mouth piece, Thank you again!

Attached is a picture we took...

All the best,
Fred

Dear Mr Angle,

On Friday night February 22, I along with my
younger brother attended the TNA show at the Westbury Music Fair, and had the time of our lives.  The entire evening was amazing from start to finish and we can not wait to see TNA in the area again soon.  After your match we waited on line to take a picture with you along with all of your hundreds of fans.  Being 29 yrs old I was so nervous getting into the ring I nearly tripped over the middle rope and fell.  You were nothing less than a perfect gentleman even in those few moments we were in the ring with you posing for the picture and signing an autograph.  I have been a wrestling fan my whole life and after the evening of TNA wrestling and the few moments you spent with my
brother and I you have made another wrestling fan for life.
Once again thank you so much and we hope to see
you soon back in the Long Island NY area.

                           Always,
                           Shaun A. LaRosa

World of Wheels and a heartwarming story.

Hey, guys!

It's been awhile since I've posted, but here's an update.  I went to the World of Wheels today for a meet and greet with Kurt Angle. Yes. the Kurt Angle, Olympic gold medalist, former WWE World Champion, current TNA superstar, and all around nice guy.  I have a picture uploaded from said event.  In the picture, you can clearly see me, Angle, the WCW United States championship (which is now signed by former U.S. Champ Kurt Angle), and a white bear, which he also signed.   For those of you who do not yet know, as of now, that bear has been signed by NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, and now Kurt Angle.  Once R.O.C. is up and running, and after I get a few other signatures on the bear, R.O.C. will be auctioning off the bear.  Whatever the bear sells for, we will be donating to charity.  Yay!

I also got to meet Mike Jones at the show.  Who is Mike Jones, you may ask?  You might remember him from the WWF as The Million Dollar Man's servant, Virgil, or maybe you remember him as nWo member, Vincent.  Either way, it was pretty cool to meet him.  I still remember about 16 years ago, when I was cheering for him to beat Million Dollar Man, and he did so with the help of Roddy Piper.

So now, here is the story to warm your hearts.  I have told many of you my Scott Steiner stoery, but if I haven't, here it is.   Back in December of '05, Scott Steiner was part of an AWE show at the U of M.  Before the show, they had a table set up, where both Scott, and his brother Rick, were signing pictures.  I was about third in line.  Right in front of me there was a visibly mentally challenged man, who was extremely excited to meet Scott Steiner.  When it was his turn at the table, he looked at all the Scott Steiner pictures laid out on the table, and with a Rain Man-like ability, recounted which part of Steiner's career each picture came from.  He was so happy to see Steiner, that he was barely able to stammer out a," Could you please s..s...sign my pr...pr...program, please?" to which Scott Steiner curtly responded," I don't sign anything you didn't buy from me."

Now, I understand that selling pictures, etc. is how a wrestler makes his extra cash when on the indy circuit, but , to me, when you refuse to sign a program for a mentally challenged person, that's F'n low.  I was disgusted by Steiner's refusal and general attitude.  Every person I recounted this story to, responded the same. "What a prick!"

So here's the heartwarming side.  As I stood in line today at the World of Wheels, waiting to meet Kurt Angle, I looked further down the line, and I saw the same mentally challenged man.  And it made me feel good to know that this time he wouldn't be rejected by one of his heroes, but would get the autograph, picture, and handshake that comes from a true heroe, who appreciates his fans, and wants to give a little back.  I have a lot of respect for Angle.  The way he presented himself to me, and I'm sure to the mentally challenged man, will stay with us for a long time.  This mentally challenged man would finally be validated by someone he holds in the highest regard, and not kicked aside for not having $10 bucks to spend on a picture.  There is still decency in this world.

Whoa.  That was kind of deep.  I think I'll leave it at that this time around.  Talk to you guys again soon.           -Peter
